AEROTEC WATCHES: Best GMT priced watch of all the Micro Brands?
Today I'm continuing my quest on gathering as much data and research on Micro Brand watches as possible. I wanted to share with you some research I've discovered on Malaysian brand Aerotec Watches. I saw this red reptilian dial face on one of their models, the AEROTEC ACE X GMT DIVER - CANDY APPLE RED DIVE WATCH as it's listed on the Micro brand store. Currently for £349.
It has a great mixture of colours and textures. It may be too much texture for some but I just love the iridescent shades all over the dial and case. I guess I've already given away my editor pick but let’s take a quick look at the history of the brand.
The history of Aerotec
The company was founded in 2016. For more than 7 years, it has been their goal to produce high-quality, but still affordable mechanical tool watches. Refreshingly unique design, excellent materials and precise watchmaking are particularly important to them. (According to their site).
Founded by watch collector Terence See, Aerotec Watches is a passion project through and through. As a watch enthusiast, Terence is well-versed in the nuances of vintage watches and knows what collectors like himself look for in heritage timepieces. Aerotec steps in to fill the void of high-quality, yet affordable, vintage-inspired watches built to modern standards. (If you're out there Terence, get in touch. I can't find you on Linkedin. I'd love to road test one of these watches for my channel).
The name Aerotec is derived from the words "Aerodynamic" (Aero) and "Technology" (Tec), and symbolises a connection to the aerodynamics of the modern precious design fuelled with the technology of today's watchmaking.
Closer look
AEROTEC ACE X GMT DIVER - CANDY APPLE RED DIVE WATCH from The Time Teller,
It's a thick boy. It has a scuba diver mask on the caseback, the googles are windows into the movement which is a nice touch. The bezel definitely ratchet-y and feels like it won't back out on you. The internal bezel is phenomenal, it has some positive clicks as you rotate the bezel. The wave pattern on the dial, looks like water. (I called it more amphibian). The lume is decent, with lume on the crowns which is novel.
SPECS:

Reviews and feedback from customers of Aerotec
I got the silver one and its slick all around. It wears really well and is comfortable. I have a smaller wrist so I was kind of worried about the thickness. But honestly it don't feel or look too fat on the wrist. Since I got it I think it’s been worn more than any other watch in my collection. And that right there is how you can tell if you got a good watch or not. When you grab it in the morning over countless other watches that are 4 or 5 times the price. Going to be looking for future releases from Aerotec.
Summary
For the price it's hard to argue that this a front runner for one of the best GMT Micro brands on the market right now. I personally love the dial face although it could be too busy for other people. I'm surprised this brand has not has much exposure online, outside of YouTube reviews. But I do love an underdog.
