Advisor Watch Company: the most Masculine Microwatch Brand out there

Every now and then a micro watch brand comes onto my radar that makes my finger trigger itchy. The Advisor Watch Company, from Singapore, is run as a one man band and that band is called Andy Siow. Coming onto the microbrand watch scene in December 2016, Andy's Panerai-inspired designs received a lot of positive feedback from the community. I'm a huge fan of the ruggedness, the unapologetic swagger and insoluble confidence of this watch.

The hallmark of this brand: large cushion-case dress watches with super high double domed sapphire crystals and California dials with a brushed antique wood grain effect.

I've picked out the bronze Supa 300m Dive watch as my Editor's Pick, so let’s get into it.

The Advisor Bronze Supa is a 300m Dive Watch with a swiss movement. Something to notice immediately is how brawn this watch looks. It looks like something out of a Transformer movie. The design is spectacular with a screw down crown which is big and easy to grip.

The case contours wonderfully to your wrist, (according to the review on Marshall Time)  and its fully brushed and bronze throughout. It comes in many colourways and its best to check the site for availability before you fall in love. However, I've fallen for the blue dial with the beautiful white inner chapter ring. In the video review I'm told it looks inky blue in some light and 'sparkly' in other lights.

This was quite a revolutionary model when it came out. It has a nice balanced symmetry to it with the datejust at the 6, which has since been adopted by the likes of Oris and even Omega more recently.

The main takeaway for a watch like this, is just how beefy and masculine it looks. The hexi-bolts are pure aesthetic, a nice touch. The 120 click bezel has a satisfying grip and the caseback has some neat engraving. Not too showy.

The brand has a bit of mystery to it, there's not an overwhelming amount of information out there on Advisor Watches. Perhaps it's one if you know you know. You know?

Available on the website currently $800.

By the time the watch goes through Toronto then arrives in Lancaster the case will have a full patina. The only negative for me is the slotted head screws used on the case back. Now you’re reviewed the Helson Shark Diver and the Helm Komodo, so which has the best lume of the three.
