I normally don't condone such generic listicles, but I do often wonder when people come round to my house and ask, 'what's that?' or 'where can I get one of those?' why aren't these items staples in most people’s homes? Now admittedly, most people are either pointing at Tuula or my Panasonic 55" UHD TV which I have reviewed here.

But these items I'm about to list are fairly inexpensive and will either up your all-round game or make your day-today life a heck of a load more easier.

Perfect Fitness Perfect Pushup Grips - £29.99

Let’s face it push ups are both hard and boring. But these twisty-ergonomic grip thingies really help distribute the weight evenly and if you keep a tally of how many you do each day, next to a suggestive photo of Susie Dent from dictionary corner, it can certainly liven up your workout.

Gallant Abdominal Exercise Ab Roller Wheel - £7.99

Sit ups are also quite boring and no matter how many I did, I just couldn't quite shift that tiny bit of chicken/ love handles. This AB roller though has sorted that right out. I've also rationed myself to just one buffet pack of Vienetta a week and the results speak for themselves, I can hear you say through your smart screen when looking at my 'get ready with me' reels on Instagram.

Lint Roller, 5 Sticky Replacement Heads with 1 Handle - £7.59

When you live with pets then a lint roller is key. I keep losing mine so I bought 5 of these and now have them placed in each room of the flat. Another idea is to actually build a 'lint room' in the house where you just lay down strips of lint on the floor and roll about it in before you leave the house. Patent pending, thank you.

God damn will this winter never end? No is the answer so you need some decent gloves. These are cheap but comfortable and have a long hand so cover the wrist and watch. You might in fact be tempted to wear the watch over the glove like Gianni Agnelli. But at the risk of starting a new trend, it might just look like you're showing off and you'll increase your chances of getting mugged substantially.

Meaning you don't have to keep fishing your mobile in and out of your pocket all day long each time someone stops to talk to you. Which if you are walking a very cute dog, is all the God damn time.
