My Top 5 Mid-range Watches right now

Back again with some watch recommendations from my ultimate mid-range watch wish list. The term mid-range might be subjective, depending on salary, net-worth etc. But for the sake of this discussion I've listed five amazing mid-range watches currently available through EST1897 between £895 - £2,650. These watches are conveniently the same ones I was asked to photo shoot the other day, what are the odds. Let's get into it.

Tudor Heritage Black Bay 79830 41mm Stainless Steel Mens Watch - £2,650

Taking inspiration from vintage Submariner watches from the 50s, 60s and 70s, the Tudor Heritage Black Bay has been a highly coveted and sought after timepiece since its introduction in 2012. This Big Crown watch could be worn on the beach, in the pool, washes the dishes, or next to any body of water.

A wonderful in-depth interview into the history of the Black Bay watch can be found online, although the actual magazine I won't credit as I know the editor and he owes me an apology.

Tag Heuer Monaco CW2111-0 38mm Stainless Steel Mens Watch - £2,250

Oh probably one of my favourite watches of all time, regardless of price or brand. The name of the model was taken from the Monaco Formula One race to clearly position the watch as a sport chronograph for the world of racing cars.

This Tag Heuer Monaco is also an investment piece, and don't just take my word for it. This quote from Times and Watches

'If you're looking for a somewhat unusual investment choice which delivers style at a very reasonable price point, these watches are well worth considering'.

Bremont MB11 43mm Stainless Steel Mens Watch - £2,250

The back story is the thing I love most about Bremont. The owners crash landed a plane in a French Farmers field and the surname of the chap that fed and gave them shelter for the night was a gentleman called Bremont. Now don't quote me on that, but I'm convinced that is at least 70% accurate.

The watch itself is a thing of beauty. The crowns are knurled (my favourite kind of finish on a crown) for ease of grip. I love the sword hands – make for a clean, crisp and direct finish.

Oris Big Crown ProPilot 7698 44mm Stainless Steel Mens Watch - £895

Oris is more popularly known for their range of dive watches and for serving some of the best coffee in its flagship boutique on South Moulton Street.

It has a stand-out simple, grandiose matte black dial with white indices and minimal text. The font on the day dial reminds me of something from a scrolling LED display from 80s Wall Street. With me?

Raymond Weil Freelancer 7730 42mm Stainless Steel Mens Watch - £1,250

People stop me on the street and always ask me the same question over and over, is Raymond Weil a Swiss luxury watchmaker. The answer is yes for the thousandth time I tell them, Founded in 1976 in Geneva, Raymond Weil is a family company founded by Raymond Weil and Simone Bédat.

This watch has a brutal beauty to it. The striking contrast yellow second hand, is paired beautifully with an accent on the three, and two other complication dials.
