Introducing the new Bremont Broadsword Recon Limited Edition
Today I want to share my excitement for the announcement of the new release from Bremont, the Broadsword Recon. Which also sounds like it could be mistaken for an ITV period drama where Aidan Turner plays a down on his luck detective on the trail of Jack The Ripper. Yet despite his drinking problem, he still has immaculate teeth, hair and the kind of abdominal muscles you'd only see on the front cover of Men's Health.
This watch will go fast, in fact they may have already gone. If they have please do tag me in some photos on Instagram, I'd love to see how they look in the wild.
This watch is inspired by the legendary Dirty Dozen field watch. For a second I thought they were inspired by the Oscar winning movie from 1967, The Dirty Dozen. Perhaps if they do a re-release we can have individual pictures of the film's cast on the dial face. It will only increase the value and then you'd true fanatics that would have to have the set.
I'm thinking the likes of Lee Marvin, Ernest Borgnine, and Donald Sutherland would be the most sought after, although Telly Savalas would be the most practical being bald, the dial hands would orient around his face and slap head in a frictionless manner that meant the wearer could tell the time easier.
This series of timepieces was commissioned for the British Army during World War Two, when Britain's Ministry of Defence needed watches to issue to military personnel.
Stamped with the badges of all three services, the case back states ‘Approved by Her Majesty’s Armed Forces’ given that this limited edition watch was designed and approved by the MOD under Her Majesty’s Reign.
In addition to a stone canvas NATO style strap, each watch includes a complimentary strap option – either black Temple Island rubber or brown vintage leather.
Is this a luxury watch? As you may have read in a previous post on my blog My Top 3 Luxury Watches Right Now, despite popular believes a luxury watch is not defined on just how shiny it is. One of the main factors on whether it's a luxury watch means that certain parts of the watch have to be handmade. And you'll be pleased to know that every Bremont is hand built and tested before leaving the Henley-on-Thames workshop. Sidebar - if you're reading this Bremont, I'd love to come visit said facilities, we'll discuss expenses and exposure fee privately.
The watch is available to purchase online for £3,195.
