Have You Hit A Weight Loss Plateau?
Weight loss is never easy. After all, if it was there wouldn’t be a billion dollar industry built around it trying to sell you cheap tricks and scams. However, there are simple, straightforward, unglamorous things that you can do to help you lose weight and reach your own personal goals when it comes to your health. Many of us reach a point where these things no longer seem to be working. If that’s the case, it’s easy to get discouraged and slip back into some bad habits. To help you stay on track, here are some simple things that you can do if you’ve hit a weight loss plateau.
Increase your activity levels
A calorie deficit is the most obvious way to lose weight and the way that most of us go about creating that kind of deficit is to cut back on how much we’re eating. And sure, that can be a good thing but if you’re only reducing your food intake then you’re likely to hit a plateau pretty quickly. If you want to both lose weight and become healthier, there really is no substitute for getting active. You don’t suddenly have to become obsessed with the gym. Something as simple as walking every day or finding a sport that you enjoy can bring a whole host of benefits, weight loss being just one of them.
Get more sleep
This is one that surprises a lot of people. The truth is that a lack of sleep can seriously hamper your efforts to lose weight. If you’re not getting enough sleep, your metabolism is going to struggle to function properly and your hunger hormones are likely to get seriously unbalanced. Adults typically need between 7 and 9 hours of sleep a night and if you’re not getting enough, it really doesn’t matter what else you do, you’re going to struggle to lose much weight.
Weight loss injections
If you really feel as though you’ve exhausted every other possibility, there is always the option of a weekly wegovy injection. These injections are typically prescribed by a doctor and work thanks to an active ingredient that mimics a hormone in the human body and helps to regulate your blood sugar levels, helping you feel less hungry. Essentially, it tricks your body into producing more of a specific hormone that tells your brain you’re full and don’t need to eat. Alongside other weight loss methods, these injections can help you get over the hurdle and make meaningful changes to your health.
It’s important to remember that any weight loss is something that should be very carefully observed and done slowly. Diets that claim to be able to help you drop a lot of weight very quickly are either lying to you or they are going to put your health at serious risk. If you’re looking to make any changes to your lifestyle that could result in weight loss, it’s always a good idea to discuss it with a licensed medical professional first.
