NEW Jo Malone London Blossoms Collection: A Sardinian Summer

Recently I spent a morning with the good folk at Jo Malone London who guided me through a virtual fragrance discovery to explore their new Blossoms collection, A Sardinian Summer.

With the English weather being what TFL announcers would call, 'inclement' of late, it was a little slice of heaven to experience a scented escape to sunbathed shores, even just for a short while.

The new Blossoms collection comes equipped with two limited-edition scents encapsulating an Italian summer:

Inspired by a chance discovery along the coast, Sea Daffodil is a solar floral fragrance, radiant with ylang ylang and rooted in warm vanilla entwined with creamy sandalwood. As ever Jo Malone London has perfectly harnessed those indescribable summer pangs one feels on a grey wintery dog walk around Clapham Common. Sea Daffodil is not the ultimate antidote to sub-zero temperatures in March. That's a thick-fleeced Peacoat and lined leather gloves. But the imagination also needs to be kept warm with the promise of a summer filleted with cocktails whilst watching the dandies of Piazza del Popolo go about their day. Their shoes and ties as sharp as their wits. 

Bitter Mandarin captures the spirit of a Mediterranean summer evening: a carefree buzz in the air. Citrus trees line Italian streets and ice-filled glasses clink with a bitter citrus spritz. If Sea Daffodil is the Negroni at noon, then Bitter Mandarin is the Sgroppino al Limone of serate sotto le stelle. Capiche?
