Jo Malone London and the Adventure to Lavenderland
Jo Malone London introduces a new limited-edition collection offering a fresh perspective on an iconic ingredient. English Lavender. Buckle up everyone, I’m going to wax lyrical about the new limited-edition collection from Jo Malone London; Lavenderland.
I’ve always had an unbridled affinity for Lavender. It’s got an enchanting quality that carries a soothing stillness. It’s one of the few notes that can stop you in your tracks.
The collection includes three limited-edition colognes with an additional two limited edition home product pillow mist and diffuser.
The Lavenderland collection is composed of:
Lavender & Coriander 30ml Cologne £50
Silver Birch & Lavender 30ml Cologne £50
Wisteria & Lavender 30ml Cologne £50
Lavender & Musk Pillow Mist 45ml £25
Lavender & Musk Diffuser 165ml £67
First up, the bottles were a huge hit with the ladies at the press launch. You’ll discover a range of violet hues on the caps, a far cry from the black muscular bottles in the Bergamot and Oud collection.
Below are some descriptions of the scents mixed with some initial thoughts.
Lavender & Coriander
Aromatic English Lavender nestled in a thriving and fragrant herb garden, bolstered by the striking note of coriander.
I'd say this is my second favourite, green and herby smelling but very fresh, it reminds me of a Spring day in the garden, when the grass has been freshly cut and would definitely work for him and her.
This has a very natural, a very fresh opening. The lavender is very present and immediately you’ll be reassured that this has a very honest quality. By that I mean there is nothing sharp or synthesised about the lavender.
It has a push of tonka bean but I didn’t get that until much later. The floral wakening is what gives this scent its magic. The coriander blends beautifully with the lavender and you can almost feel the spring stretch its legs on the proverbial decking of your palette.
Silver Birch & Lavender
This has more zip. It’s a very impactful scent I was immediately taken to it. (Not least because the name Silver Birch is the colour name given to the Aston Martin DB5 in the James Bond movies).
It has the charisma of a James Bond.
At the launch this one was really the one that people were talking about after. It does have an androgynous quality. All the Jo Malone scents are gender free, but this one more so than the others.
It’s sensual. It’d more complex than the other two, and I have to agree with the common consensus, that this is the most polished and most accomplished of the three.
Wisteria & Lavender
Surprisingly this one my favourite. It has a very young feel, heightened by the vanilla and white musk.
It’s probably too young for me, but for someone in their 20s to early 30s, this would be a very intriguing scent to own.
I wish I had this scent ten years ago. That said, like many of the Jo Malone scents you can layer this with others. Recommended pairing will be the Peony & Blush Suede.

The mist and diffuser complete the collection nicely and will encourage a relaxing mood as well as enable a good nights sleep.
