Emporio Armani Stronger With You Freeze | Fragrance Review
Today I'm going to be talking about the new fragrance from Emporio Armani, the Stronger With You Freeze. Part of the DUO fragrance range. There's already a welter of new releases of fragrances in 2020. I don't remember it being this busy last year. We had the Givenchy Gentleman release and the Jo Malone London Vetiver & Golden Vanilla earlier this year. You can check those videos out on my YouTube now.
But let's move onto the latest one I've been sent from Emporio Armani.
The latest flanker to the Stronger With You collection, the predecessor was the Stronger With You Intensely Version. And of course you have the original Classic version, Stronger With You.
Crafted as a unique Citrus Woody Fougere, the bottle is beautiful and it comes in a frosted glass. The original liquid from the intensely one was darker than this. It's a very attractive bottle but not immediately distinguishable. It doesn't have that striking silhouette of a Trussardi or a Tom Ford bottle. But still it's elegant. Saying that, if you combine the “Stronger With You” FREEZE (For Him) fragrance with the “In Love With You” FREEZE (For Her) fragrances together it transforms into a powerful duo. You just cannot have one without the other, its like Johnny Cash without June Carter, myself without Charlie dog…you get where I’m going with this.
On the press blurb it says that it opens with fresh notes of lime, ginger, and mandarin essence to tingle and entice, while an apple accord as fresh as a just-bitten fruit adds a juicy note.
I can say you get a very light fresh sensation. There's no sweet citrus opening. I'm certainly getting the lime. This one doesn't have the cinnamon or the pineapple notes like the predecessor. So it lacks a sweetness. However, it's very fresh and it has its own glow.
At its heart, aromatic lavender flower, sage and geranium bourbon combined with spicy cardamom give an elegant and natural freshness. Providing a masculine and woody richness, the notes of glazed chestnut, ambery woods, gaiac and Madagascar vanilla bourbon premium extract ground the formula.
The woodiness certainly comes through quite heavy when you let the dust settle a bit. It's surprisingly spicy because I thought it would be lighter judging by the colour of the liquid. The lavender is there. It's not hitting you over the head, it's more subtle.
It's not too far off the Intensely version on the dry down. It has that familiar dry down. You know it does somehow sit between the Intensely flanker and Chanel Egoiste Platinum. It's in that ballpark to coin an Americanism.
It's floral, but more accessible. More versatile I think. I quite like it, I think it's more for my age because it's lost that sweetness that the Intensely had.
