Sergio Tacchini Pacific Blue: FragranceReviewed
Today I'm sharing some thoughts on my new aftershave, Sergio Tacchini Pacific Blue. The bottle has echoes of Versace Eros Eau de Toilette, with its embossed maze-like pattern and cubed blue aesthetic. The cap on this is a branded plastic-silver with the look of a steel letterbox crown. There is nothing on the back. Overall it looks expensive and sits handsomely on the shelf.
About
Sergio Tacchini was born in Italy in 1938. His career as a professional tennis player helped him design innovative sportswear. His designs are tailored to the specific needs of athletes. After his retirement he released a product portfolio of sportswear for skiers, golfers, sailors and for people working out. Tacchini sponsored numerous tennis players during the company's heyday. Among them were: Jimmy Connors, Ilie Năstase, Mats Wilander, John McEnroe, Martina Navratilova, Sergi Bruguera, Pat Cash, Gabriela Sabatini, Pete Sampras, Martina Hingis, Dinara Safina and others.
As part of the Performance Collection released in 2022, Sergio Tacchini released Pacific Blue Eau De Toilette intended to capture the essence of a vibrant coastal breeze, offering a refreshing scent for those who love to embrace the spirit of adventure. This fragrance (supposedly) transports you to sun-drenched shores, making it the perfect companion for everyday wear or special occasions. With its (assumed) lively and invigorating notes, Pacific Blue embodies a sense of freedom and joy, inviting you to explore the world around you.
The other flanker is Pure Black which I have not tried.
Opening
Without looking at the note profile I got a very fresh opening. Lots of floral accords, the promise of Spring. It's a fragrance that offers a lot of optimism and I'm pleased to say, that hangs around for a while. A few Eau de Toilette numbers I've been trying recently in this price range have certainly come and gone within the first 20 minutes.
In fact I couldn't get a note portfolio as there is very little information about this online, and I bought it sans box. But I can tell you it has a deep elegance to it. There is a touch of green mandarin, some pink sea salt, and maybe some blood orange. It's not overly citrusy and after a few minutes the woodiness comes in. It's a creamy wood, like a cedar that's been sauted in patchouli and musk .
Where to wear
Undoubtedly this could be a first date fragrance, you could walk the dog and wear this. Maybe hang around the bakery on a sunny day and see if some young lady stretches across from you to get the ashtray on the next table. She'll be like, 'you smell nice,' and you'll say, 'So do you pet,' even though she stinks of Rothmans. You'll question whether you're just being polite, or you're just plain desperate for an easy lay.
