HALTANE by Parfums de Marly | Fragrance Review
Introducing HALTANE, the latest fragrance launch from Haute Perfumery Maison, Parfumes de Marly - now available globally across leading luxury retailers, including Harrods, Selfridges, Harvey Nichols and Fenwick.
With traditional aromatic woods revealing a surprising burst of sensations, this stand-out scent boasts a bright, herbal freshness that opens up to warm, smooth notes of leather and a symphony of precious woods. A soft and rich praline accord, enhanced by saffron, presents a contemporary spin on mythical Oud wood.
This scent is brimming with regality. It has a very upper echelon vibe to it. I almost felt under-dressed just trying it on. My initial fear was that it would be too Oud-y, and overpowering. Luckily this was not the case. The citrus and aromatic notes are vibrant upon the opening and the oud flirts on the fringes. On the dry down the Oud gets more involved and then it entwines enchantingly with the lavender and sage. It's a very mature well-rounded scent that doesn't impose. Yet it has great range, both in performance and projection. There is a masculine underbelly afforded by the Cedar, yet with some dusting of sweetness peppered by the Praline.
I can wear this to the meetings, events and date nights. If I were a single pringle I perhaps wouldn't wear this on a first date as you never know if your partner has a thing about Oud. I've received plenty of complements on this one however. An unexpected one from a male bartender no-less who said and I quote, 'I smell delicious'. Right on.
Top Notes: Bergamot, Lavender, Clary Sage
Heart Notes: Saffron, Cedarwood, Praline, Elder Wood
Base Notes: Patchouli, Vetiver, Musk, Leather, Natural Agarwood
A bold and noble composition; Haltane invigorates the senses with the perfect balance of sophistication and freshness. They also invite you to celebrate this fine fragrance with a glass of pre-mixed Glenfiddich Scotch Whisky Manhattan Cocktail; equally indulgent with expertly combined ingredients from Batch & Bottle's master distillery. Why not indeed, bottoms up.
