Beverly Hills Club Polo Set: Ultimate Fragrance Gifting

Beverly Hills Club Polo Set: Ultimate Fragrance Gifting

Today I'm looking at the latest offering from the Beverly Hills Polo Club (BHPC), the three piece gift set that contains their flankers of Blue Body Spray, Aqua Blue Body Spray Active and Body Spray Black - AKA Sexy for Men.

I haven't been this excited to receive a trio since I, well, was last gifted a Trio chocolate bar in my lunch box when I was 8 years old. (Ok if you can find a better trio gag then please DM me and I'll insert here).

The first thing to note is that the Beverly Hills Polo Club has nothing to do with Ralph Lauren Polo. Yes the name has Polo in it, it's branded all-America, and the logo even has a guy on horseback wielding a mallet, so you'll be forgiven for mistaking the two brands and conflating the idea that this is a luxury brand. And in all honesty, I think the BHPC is quite relying on you to do that very thing.

From the website,

The Beverly Hills Polo Club brand was established in 1982. Inspired by both the elegance and glamour of Beverly Hills as well as the heritage sport of polo, the

brand captures the excitement of this competitive sport along with membership in an exclusive social club.

Yes confession time, I bought this BHPC fragrance pack as a gift for myself at a strip mall for a bargain price, hoping it would be an upmarket accessory to their much more elevated looking fragrances such as Titan, Tour, Heritage, and Trophy. Sadly this falls into the gift for the nephew at Christmas camp as the price may have suggested.

What I didn't expect was the plasticky bottles, perhaps more akin to bubble blowers that keeps your 2 year olds entertained. And well adults too, but this really has nothing but the paucity of bargain basement novelty ambitions.

The fragrances themselves are remarkably generic, and the black bottle has some defacing on the label which means I'd be hard pressed to even give this to my nephew.

That said, packaging and homogenous smelling sprays aside, you can at least travel with these being under 90ml. The casing is secure and the clip down caps have been designed well enough to trust them in your liquids bag. The atomiser is very powerful once it gets going and you can wear each of these fragrances interchangeably. They're so generic it almost becomes a positive that you can wear them without offending a first date or your colleague at the office that leans over your space to grab the hole puncher.

Recommend only if you're looking to give someone a travel fragrance that might also confuse one iconic historic American brand with one that claims to be.
