My Top Five Favourite Green Dialled Watches

My Top Five Favourite Green Dialled Watches

Today I'm drinking my green 'sludge' smoothie, I'm wearing my green pants and I'm perusing green dials on my computer. It's that kind of morning. I'm not looking to pay a king's ransom so I thought I'd put a small list together of accessible-priced green dial watches, and share my thoughts with you all. Some unusual picks here, enjoy.

Straum

Discover the raw beauty of Norway and the Jan Mayen Moss Green. They carefully sculpt every detail and CNC multiple stamping tools. Each dial is stamped, coated, painted and lapped, resulting in a truly captivating experience.

Jan Mayen Moss Green captures the resilient mosses of Jan Mayen, draping the inhospitable landscape in a thick, gentle green carpet. The radial texture captures the faceted and jagged Arctic Moss, as it takes on the shape of the underlying landscape. Whilst it might be a little pricey for a microbrand, there is no doubt that dial is like looking into some Christopher Nolan could have storyboarded for Tom Hardy, 'don't be afraid to dream a little bigger darling.'

Rare Gemstone Dial with Specs to back it up - Henry Archer Nordso x The Microbrand Store Collab

Unlike most other malachite dials, Henry Archer Nordso have opted for thicker slices of malachite so they can give them a semi-gloss polished finish to help bring out the rich coloration, while still making sure that the watch clocks in with a height under 11mm, making it very elegant for formal occasions. A great low-cost alternative to the Formex malachite dial. I love the sleek design and the bezel looks great as well.

Junghans 27/4495.00 Pilot Automatic Green Dial

Again just a bit too pricey for a microbrand, at least a bit too rich for my blood. But I wanted to showcase this one as it's a little different. I also have a thing for Pilot watches. The optimum readability of this Pilot Automatic is both crucial for pilots and satisfying for watch lovers. Based on authentic control panel instruments, the large numerals on the date display emphasise the cockpit character of the watch. The small second with its red hand ensures additional readability. The historical logo on the dial symbolises Junghans' traditional affinity to aviation. The bezel rotates in both directions without push or pull.

MALM DALTON GREEN UTC AUTOMATIC 38

In case you're thinking this was named after Dalton from Roadhouse, the best film ever made, you're wrong. This Dalton watch was originally designed for the 212th fighter jet squadron, callsign 'Dalton', and collects details and inspiration from the different Swedish fighter jets flown by the squadron throughout the years.

A classic dull green watch that reminds me of quintessential England, back when we weren't trying to paint rainbow stripes on pedestrian crossings.

Gruppo Gamma Peacemaker P-01

All of the hallmarks we've come to expect from a Gruppo Gamma Peacemaker are here in the Peacemaker PN-19, from the renowned quality of the build that you can just feel when operating the crown, to the improved accuracy from their watchmaker. It looks like the kind of watch Christopher Walken might hand down to a young Bruce Willis. A CuSn8 peacemaker with arabic-indic numerals on a blue or black fume dial would be amazing.
