AEVUM WATCHES: HANDCRAFTED AT ITS FINEST
Aevum Timepieces is a one man microbrand run by Bryan Farquharson, who hand makes all of the brand's leather straps with their unique tire tread pattern, carefully selecting the leathers, dying, cutting and stitching each one individually.
Originally located in Canada, Aevum Timepieces recently relocated to Japan, Bryan's technical expertise and experience in automotive racing is very much front and center when it comes to Aevum's designs. If you're looking for an automotive-themed watch, we recommend checking out our Aevum Timepieces.
Editor's Pick The Track Tech Edition
I've put this on my wish list after watching the review by Zalteck on his YouTube channel.
The label on the front of the box is cool and has some of those Japanese symbols that I like. It arrives in a cardboard box and the pouch case is leather and echoes the stitching on the strap. Other straps are available and I believe this is really the brands USP, the handmade straps and the quality of them.
The case is brushed and polished pretty much everywhere. On the case back you can see two deeply stamped crossed spanners which is the company's logo.
The screw down crown is gorgeous quite chunky but not out of proportion. Comes with plenty of grip and is reminiscent of an alloy wheel.
The dial is a matte dial and according to Will the reviewer, the white isn't really white but silver with applied hour markers. There were other colours of the dial face , blue and yellow and black but they look out of stock currently. However, on the brand's website it does say that watches out of stock can normally be reproduced within 8-10 weeks.
Indeed this is the only one in stock on the website so I'm hoping the brand will be doing some new editions or re-releases.
There is a window date at the six which is my favourite place for a date window and the hands are black.
The lume is good enough for a chronograph. From the video we can see that the sapphire crystal on the front offers plenty of anti-reflective coating. Will even remarks , "You feel like you could touch the dial with your finger."
The build quality seems supreme as there is a200m water resistance, which again for a chronograph is very impressive especially when the pushers are not screwed down.
Finally the 2 sub dials have a 60 minute dial and a 24 hour indicator in the sub dials left and right respectively.
