Elegant Lightweight Raincoats For the Summer (Wardrobe staples under £200)
Today I'm looking out my window, watching the wretched rain hammer relentlessly on my window. My outdoor space is yearning for me to capitalise on my early momentum & naive enthusiasm for renovations. It's just typical British weather I'm afraid. We extend our April Showers into the middle of summer. Yet, the temperature hasn't plummeted to depths that warrant breaking out the peacoat. Rather I'm now looking to invest in a lightweight raincoat, fit for the rainy summer walks with Charlie.
I want a raincoat that won't cook me the second the rain stops and sunlight drenches Clapham Common. I'm also not looking to overspend on this piece as it is a niche piece, intended for certain inclement weather within one season. Here are some of my findings and research.

Cotton Classic Raincoat - Stone
This single-breasted raincoat by Charles Tyrwhitt is crafted from smooth cotton and features a showerproof finish that quickly recovers from creases to keep you looking sharp. I also love the clothes pairing on the model that suggests tailored and working professional. Embroidered underarm eyelets are on hand to provide additional ventilation, while the back vent and soft shoulders ensure a comfortable fit.

Navigator Parka - Yellow
The Navigator is a unisex raincoat made from showerproof, PU textured fabric. Created with a casual fit allowing you to layer underneath, it also features a fishtail cut hem in keeping with a traditional parka. I've picked out the yellow because every parka is either green or blue. I like to shake things up every now and then. The nifty drawstring on the hood and inner waist allows you to define the raincoat as you wish, making it the perfect piece for the rainy forecast ahead.

Columbia Men's Rain Jacket
Boy there is a lot of crap on Amazon. I have trawled about 20 minutes before finding something practical, recommended and not from any unknown Chinese company with zero reviews. I like the look of Columbia's signature, air-permeable protection that’s waterproof and breathable to shield you from drizzle to downpour.

PAUL SMITH Rain Jacket
Whilst I'm not overly sold on the colours, I am on the price and the practicality. It will certainly be an upgrade in quality on most men's raincoats. Crafted in a lightweight polyester with a nylon lining, this three colour way rain mac will keep you dry and stylish. With a horizontal zip pocket laid out over a kangaroo pocket, this piece is a fresh take on a design classic. With a zip-collar leading to an attached hood, this offers added protection, whilst the coat is finished by iconic brand logo proudly displayed on the chest.
