Top 10 Spice Based Fragrances for Men

Today I'm going to be throwing a spotlight on the top 10 Spice based fragrances for men. In a previous post I touched upon what notes are synonymous with men's fragrances. You can read that article here

In no discernible order, but obeying the laws of listicles:

Eau de Citron Noir Fragrance from Hermes

As I mentioned in a previous review, someone else had commented that Eau de Citron Noir from Hermes "smells like the inside of a well-used, wooden Indian spice box that's held a variety of spices for decades." I can't top that.

Maison Christian Dior, Spice Blend

The piquancy of Spice Blend is a real joy to experience. If you like Tuxedo by YSL then this is in that ball park. I think the luxury and the spice element is closer to Ambre Noit, also in the Dior collection. You can read my full review of this scent here

Memoize London X Imperia, by Rowan Row

Under the radar but still available. This collaboration of Memoize London X Imperia, by Rowan Row starts floral, then citrus but later the base notes push through. Some black amber but moreover, the spiced woods kick into gear. It's a hot number. Check out the fragrance and review I did some time ago here

Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb

There were some sniffy reviews of this going around when it was released. I don't think it was that bad at all. This fragrance has gotten me a lot of compliments, although it's not a powerhouse scent. Not a trailblazer like a Tom Ford or a Dior Savage. I'm getting curious compliments, one girl even asked what shower gel I'm using.

I'm personally a fan of the scent. The silage was around 5 hours and I've been wearing this to the gym, to the coffee meetings. I did an in-depth review a few years back which you can read here

Perry Ellis 360 Red for Men

On my wish-list and recommended in the article 9 Best Bold & Spicy Colognes & Fragrances for Men by Man of Many, Perry Ellis 360 Red for Men boast base notes like patchouli, vetiver and red cedar that help the fragrance retain a warm and spicy accord.

Aesop Marrakech Intense

On my wish-list and recommended in the article The Best Spicy Colognes Smell Absolutely Delicious by Adam Hurly in GQ, Marrakech Intense intends to evoke a Moroccan spice market. Spicy as it is, this is one of the more balanced blends on this list, if that's what you're after.

Dior Sauvage Elixir

On my wish-list and recommended in the article 8 Ultimate Spicy Fragrances for Men by Andrew Radford in Voira London, Dior Sauvage Elixir, boasts cardamom notes, nutmeg and spicy cinnamon. A perfect cocktail.

TOM FORD Noir Extreme

On my wish-list and recommended in the article 5 Essential Spicy Fragrances For Men by Luc Wiesman in Dmarge, TOM FORD Noir Extreme enters into deeply sexy yet sophisticated territory with Noir Extreme. Top notes include bergamot, verbena, caraway, pink pepper and violet.

Jo Malone London Amber & Patchouli

As reviewed in my top five Jo Malone fragrances. What Jo Malone does better than Tom Ford, and Killian, is manage to be linear, whilst taking you on a labyrinthine journey of mysterious spices. It achieves that by introducing elements of Oriental exoticism. It's velvety, it's profound.

Gucci By Gucci Pour Homme

On my wish-list and recommended in the article Men’s Winter Fragrances: The Best Warm & Spicy Fragrances For Cold Weather by Michael Adams on his blog Michael 84, Gucci By Gucci Pour Homme is very spicy and peppery, but so inviting. It’s a sharp smell which is strong but it’s overpowering, and very manly.
