INITIO Oud For Greatness Fragrance Review
This is my first Initio fragrance review as I’m completely new to the brand, but when I figured out Initio is sold in the top luxury retailers in the UK such as Selfridges, Harrods and Harvey Nichols, I knew it’s going to be good. Initio parfums have a boutique in Paris with a large number of scents in their fragrance collection but today I’m going to exclusively talk you through ‘Oud For Greatness’.
When you’re spending around £250-£300 for a fragrance, I think you have the right to demand not only a beautifully curated fragrance but also an artistic bottle. It has to look good on your shelves at home, and Initio fragrances are up there with the most beautifully designed bottles alongside, Tom Ford Private Blend, ByKilian, BDK Parfums and Creed Fragrances. This bottle has a black and gold design in an artistic painting like design.
The fragrance is priced at £285 for 90ml, normally I would expect to get 100ml for that price but it’s like a barman filling up a pint just below the line - it makes for a greater profit margin!
Fragrance Notes
Natural Oud Wood, Agar Wood Oil, Lavender, Saffron, Patchouli, Musk
This fragrance is unisex, although I would expect more men to wear and love it because of the powerful oud note. Although the fragrance does open with a warm spiced, kind of a fresh floral aroma which would appeal more to a unisex audience, however the base of the fragrance is spiced, wood oud like, which tends to be more masculine.
This is a signature fragrance to be worn on special occasions, something to ask for a birthday, Christmas or anniversary. If you want a fragrance that will turn heads, that will invite compliments and that none of your friends will have then this is the fragrance for you.
