The Inimitable William Penhaligon Fragrance | Latest Addition to Their Portrait Collection
The Portrait Collection by Penhaligon’s is visually known for their gold animal related fragrance bottle caps which make them extremely collectable as they look great on a fragrance shelf. This fragrance family is really like no other, it is a tribute to the good old English spirit: stiff upper lip, caustic humour, and a knack for provocation.
The Inimitable William Penhaligon Eau de Parfum (£204 for 75ml) is the latest edition to the Penhaligon’s fragrance portfolio. It’s a green woody vetiver scent perfect for the colder months yet fresh enough to wear as an everyday fragrance. I would say it is more on the masculine side of fragrance if you care about that sort of thing but I can also see a lot of women loving this fragrance due to the Vetiver middle note that comes through on the dry-down.
THE INIMITABLE WILLIAM PENHALIGON FRAGRANCE NOTES
TOP NOTES: BERGAMOT + JASMINE.
HEART NOTES: VETIVER, CEDAR + INSENSE.
BASE NOTES: SANDALWOOD.
I’ve worn quite a few of the Penhaligon’s fragrances to date and this new release is very much up there with my favourites HALFETI, CAIRO and LORD GEORGE.
In 2019, I had a fragrance profiling from one of Penhaligon’s perfumers which is a one-to-one meeting with an expert of their fragrances where you sit down and discuss what fragrance is best for you in a particular situation, such as a holiday, evening out or city break. They also provide an online version which is great and takes 30 seconds. I just took the online fragrance profiling myself just now for the first time and it suggested PENHALIGON’S SARTORIAL to me, which I have never tried - so I might just give that one a try.
