The Joy of Owning a 55" Panasonic GZ950 TV? A Cinematic Experience at Home
It used to be deemed fairly anti-social staying in and watching tele. However, of late, and thanks to my new recently gifted 55 inch Panasonic GZ950 TV, I’ve found that I’ve suddenly become one of the most gregarious souls in my social circle. Funny that.
As much as I love injecting money into the local economy it can be something of an arduous slog watching a Premier League game of Football or a Six Nations game at the local pub. Often my view is skewered by some 6’5” giant or I’m bustled into the only available nook with an oblique view the screen. In fact, sometimes so oblique I only get to watch one half of the pitch!
I’m a sucker for the Six Nations. It’s actually a great thrill for me to have friends round and watch the game, have a couple of beers and relax. You can also get to ‘catch-up’ and talk to each other in the comfort of your own home as how often do you go out with friends but never actually get to talk about the subjects that you wanted to. It’s really cliché but staying in is defiantly the new going out.
Then there’s the movies. If you’re inviting a date round to yours for a film and a bottle of wine then you need something 'more wow' than the hand-me down 30 inch pixilated TV and bottle of Blossom Hill. They all say that size doesn’t matter, but it really does when you want to bring that Hollywood cinematic experience to the home. With the new Panasonic OLED TVs you can grab some popcorn and nestle in for a cosy night in front of your new crystal clear TV with the family, save money, watch a movie or two in the comfort of your own home. With this Panasonic GZ950 you won't feel short changed.
Let me tell you something else I've been doing of late. Whilst I'm working at home, I've had Blue Planet on the iPlayer running in the background. I mute the sound so I can focus, however when I catch a quick glance at the TV it's like having an aquarium in the lounge.
It builds a real soothing quality to the house and Charlie (my dog) is also transfixed. I believe it can really keep your pets entertained looking at other animals/mammals or aquatic life on the big screen.
Of course when I put the sound on I can really appreciate the depth. I do occasionally also run it through a sound bar and this just further amplifies the experience.
The 55 inch is also just the right size and when you stand in front of a big 55 inch tv you can’t help but be impressed. But then you deliver this line ‘I’m toying with the idea of getting a 65” for next season’.
