What to Wear & What to Avoid Wearing to a Casino | 3 Stylish Looks
Today I'm going to give you some tips on what to wear to a casino. I have been to Las Vegas and visited what felt like every casino on the strip. I can tell you it's not all James Bond and black tie. It’s a different playing field over here. Vegas is more catered to the tourists that want to walk in and sample the sights and play the slots. In the UK it’s a bit more exclusive.
Conversely, UK Casinos have become more of an everyday event in people’s lives as opposed to that 'special event' that you need to mark on the calendar. I was kindly invited down to the Barracuda Club on Baker Street which is part of the Grosvenor Casino London Collection and you'll be able to see a video of the three looks I've selected, plus a brief glimpse into the VIP area of the casino if you subscribe to my YouTube channel.
A simple way to frame every look I've presented for you here, is smart casual. Respectful. My advice to you is to dress like you're going to a restaurant or a nice bar. Maybe you want to impress a first date but not beat her over the head with a style-stick. There is nothing wrong with a simple double breasted jacket over a knit or plain shirt. Avoid scruffy jeans. Jeans are ok but don't go for the ones with the heavy distressing.
With all of these looks I'm dressing in a way that will make me feel comfortable at the tables so I don't have to think about what I'm wearing. I don't have to worry about ties matching pocket squares and so on.
I've opted for some smart shoes for my visit to the Barracuda Club. Some of you might be wanting to wear trainers instead. That's fine, but just make sure they're clean and presentable. You want to give a good account of yourself. Try to avoid manual work wear or joggers.
Now there is nothing stopping you from wearing a three piece suit or black tie. You'll never be overdressed in a Grosvenor Casino London Collection. However, make sure you're dressing in a manner that is not making you think about anything else, other than the fun you should be having.
Oh and my last tip for you, if you're going to bet on the roulette wheel, make sure you play for real money.
